This course will focus on the laws and rules that regulate mortgage loan originators, lenders, and brokers doing business in Florida. The topics included in this course are presented according to those outlined by the state as subjects that must be included in order to satisfy the continuing education requirements for mortgage loan originators. In Module 1, students will review provisions of Florida law and its accompanying regulations, including the authority of the Office of Financial Regulation and required conduct for licensees related to licensure, fees, disclosures, and reporting. In Module 2, students will look at recordkeeping requirements and prohibited conduct for licensees, as well as disciplinary action that may be taken when violations of the law occur. Students will also spend time reviewing Florida-specific rules related to mortgages and conveyances and the Florida homestead exemption.
